Management reporting
Rather describes static reporting where „on-demand“ reports or function-specific, prefabricated reports on a strict time allowance are generated. Function-specific means that for different management levels and functions reports are generated which are significant exactly for them. Access to these reports is then either through web-based surfaces, e-mail or installed reporting clients of the different systems.

Business Intelligence
Describes a dynamic, interactive access to business information based on a current problem statement of the user. With the diciplines data integration or data synchronisation the flexible data base was created and continuously updated. For this procedure the BI tools use the generic term OLAP = Online Analytical Processing. OLAP means nothing other than that the user has the interactive possibility, to use “his own definition” to address his information system with his problem.

Data warehousing
The term data warehousing really only describes the building up of a data/information collection, but is often also used as a synonym for business intelligence and management reporting.
